Synopsis

If Zaria Fierce had her say, being a princess would mean you’d never have to wait for news. In the eight months since Olaf tricked her, Zaria has felt a near constant mixture of restlessness, listlessness, and hopelessness. When the time comes to fix past mistakes, she is more than ready to climb aboard the ship sailing towards the giants. Summertime in Norway promises many more adventures, but also many more perils… something sinister lurks beneath the surface following her every move, haunting her, disturbing her dreams, and stealing her peace. Can Zaria figure out what it is and stop it before it’s too late?

My review

Note: The author provided me an eBook copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of the most amazing second book in a trilogy that I’ve read. I love how fast-paced the book is and how it has no flat lines/ boring parts. I like how empowering the book is, especially on facing your own demons. Just like Zaria.

The story picked up a few months after the kidnapping of the Hart of the Gloomwood Forest and oh wow, another adventure that we get to embark on with our beloved characters. I love how the story keeps getting better and better as we go in deeper in the magical world of Norway. Oh, those elves roots kind of reminded something Harry Potter-y where when you relax the roots loosen.

I like how this kids have proper etiquette, like Aleks (somewhere in chapter 5) on how he just didn’t throw his trash in his surrounding. Those kids have a really parenting though they are still too attached to the idea of adventure to end up sneaking out and freezing the ‘rents.

And oh my gods! Dragons! I love them but they are oh so cunning and evil. I felt bad for little Zaria for what happened to her. And oh that ending! Let’s worry about the stargazer and the parents later, let’s go face this freaking dragon first! Looking forward to the final book and how things will went down.

I rate it:
