Published by OfTomes Publishing, the Blood Books trilogy follows the harrowing journey of Avah Taylor, a mortal witch in the midst of a centuries-old war against the immortal vampire species. Avah’s intense journey is fueled by blood, jealousy, betrayal, murder and revenge.
There’s no wrath like that of a witch scorned.
As one of the only spirit users in her coven, Avah has been chosen to wield The Power, the ultimate weapon against the immortal vampire species witches have been at war with for centuries.
But on the night of her birth rite, Avah’s coven is attacked. Forced to seek refuge among the very beings she’s sworn to kill, Avah vows revenge on those who took her former life from her.
As Avah slowly transitions into a life of blood and war, she realizes everything she’s been told is a lie.
THE WRITING. I like the writing style of the author, the way she laid out the details of each event, scene, character and place to the reader so that we can get a nice grasp and image in this world that the author is building. I like how the vampires stayed true on their nature as night beings and not made them as day walkers and by doing it, the author broke the cliche of vampire/paranormal novel these days
THE PLOT. I was expecting a rip off of “Twilight” but no we didn’t. I like the plot progression and its fast paced unraveling. I like the nice dash of romance in the midst of chaos and confusion. There’s just something missing in it that I can’t properly point out like there should be more to this book, especially on some events like the sudden appearance of the Rouge vamps and the coven. There is more to this book. So, more please? More deets, more info, more more more please. (I sound like a newborn vamp begging for blood haha!)
THE CHARACTERS. Avah Taylor. Man, I like her. I like how she dealt with the new life (well, unlife) that she got thrusted into. There are some distrust involved but she knows her advantage and she used it. She is not what I was expecting and I like how she surprised me and how she proved her strength to the coven. I like Jasik, there was enough development in his character and his appeal, I like how steamy he and Avah could get if they were left alone together in one room. The other Hunters, whom I referred to as a background noise before, got a nice hint on their true nature too. Like Malik’s protectiveness and love for his brother, the light that Jerimiah carries around with him and Lillie’s fairly placed and reasonable distrust.
THE ENDING. Heck really? That’s the end? More please! Like, there should be more fight scenes and display of power. What the heck happened to the witches’ coven? Who is this new Aussie dude? Its like the author purposely inserted these new characters and dilemmas at the end of the book just to leave the reader wanting for more.
