KINGDOMS WILL COLLIDE.
The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius as war looms on the horizon. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those who don’t.
With her heart sworn to the warrior-prince by her side, and her fealty pledged to the people she is determined to save, Aelin will delve into the depths of her power to protect those she loves. But as monsters emerge from the horrors of the past, and dark forces become poised to claim her world, the only chance for salvation will lie in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.
In this breathtaking fifth installment of the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series, Aelin will have to choose what—and who—to sacrifice if she’s to keep the world of Erilea from breaking apart.
“She was a force of nature. She was a calamity and a commander of immortal warriors of legend.”
― Sarah J. Maas,
Sarah J. Maas have done it again people! Such a vividly weaved installment of Throne of Glass series that will surely take your breath away.
THE WRITING. It was brilliant and captivating! It gripped me, not held, as I breezed through the book. The cliff hangers on every chapter had me eager to jump onto the next one just to see what happens. I like how detailed and intricate the scenes in the book are. A little know too that the book ain’t anymore deemed YA because holy crap, it just turned so freaking erotic in the middle part. But all was well, except for that time when she just destroyed out hearts and had us thirsty for the next installment.
THE PLOT. Allow me to enlighten you what kind of plot this book has. Believe me when I say there’s a bunch of scheming, sex and slaughter. My gosh, everything is just so well placed and that when it all came crashing down to the reader, I didn’t have enough time to duck and cover my feels. There were moments when I was all like “I saw that one coming!” but there are more “I DID NOT FREAKING SAW THAT ONE COMING!” moments that really had me pulling at my hair. This book is just brilliant! Probably had me grabbing that bottle of wine because of the aftermath.
THE CHARACTERS. So much tension between the characters! Especially “sexual tension”, my gosh! I love Elide’s character development. Her [Elide] transition from a girl who wants to escape and run to a cunning and calculative is so remarkable, I like Elide’s relationship with Lorcan and how they both grew on each other. I love love love Aelin so much! She’s the brilliant, insane, brave and cunning! I love how she gathered up all her allies from all of those people who owed her back when she was Celeana Sardotien and made me regret of not reading Assassin’s Blade novellas. Can we also talk about that little argument Aelin and Dorian had at the ship regarding Manon and them letting her roam free? Iconic “You have a preference on immortal warriors, why can’t I?”. Also, can we talk about the amout of sex the characters in this books have had? Rowaelin is friggin’ endgame and that sex in the beach thing? Also, Dorian and Manon! Holy gods Dorian rutting Havilliard is one hell of a sex god! I would’ve given the title to Rowan but he’s got centuries to practice all them moves. And Manon, I love that she finally broke free of her grandma Matron’s clutches, I hope Manon kills her in the next book. Also this is a GIF representation of me after I finished reading the book.
THE ENDING. What. The. Rutting. HELL?! SJM you’re evil! Why did you do that? WHY? It’s just not fair that you left me in pieces. When I read the final chapters I kept on hoping that that dreadful moment would be prevented but uhg! It felt like someone shoved me out of the window of the highest floor of the building and them dumped a piano over my broken body. WHY?! I need book six now!
