Format: eBook
Publisher: Greenwillow Books
Release Date: June 10th 2014

SynopsisAn action-packed, blood-soaked, futuristic debut thriller set in a world where the murder rate is higher than the birthrate. For fans of Moira Young’s Dust Lands series, La Femme Nikita, and the movie Hanna.

Meadow Woodson, a fifteen-year-old girl who has been trained by her father to fight, to kill, and to survive in any situation, lives with her family on a houseboat in Florida. The state is controlled by The Murder Complex, an organization that tracks the population with precision.

The plot starts to thicken when Meadow meets Zephyr James, who is—although he doesn’t know it—one of the MC’s programmed assassins. Is their meeting a coincidence? Destiny? Or part of a terrifying strategy? And will Zephyr keep Meadow from discovering the haunting truth about her family?

Action-packed, blood-soaked, and chilling, this is a dark and compelling debut novel by Lindsay Cummings.

My review

The Murder Complex is a quick and amazing read kind of book, it will satisfy you but would leave you waiting for more. The Murder Complex has this intriguing title and plot and characters that makes you wanna fasten up your reading process so that you’ll get to find out what really is happening and what stuff will go down.

At first it has all this world building going on and a lot of Murder Complex world jargon that got me confused at first but as I progress reading and after only five chapters, I got fully plunged in the world of the Murder Complex and it was one of the most bad ass reading experience I’ve ever had in a long time. It also has an amazing character development, Meadow’s character is so empowering and so strong, her independence and family centered-ness made me love her more. Zephyr’s character misses that swoon worthy allure that I usually look for the male leads but I think the intent of the author is for him to be mysterious in that dark and deceiving way and not the part that would make the readers swoon on him. Every characters has their mystery and darkness that really engulfs the readers and make you devour the book even though it’s gruesome and bloody.

Hands down to you Lindsay Cummings, the book is a total BNB (Badass N’ Bloody) I love everything about it! A major wow book!
